Beyond These Four Walls

I think Max is bored with me.  I do baby olympics with him in the house where I run him through circuits of different things to do in the apartment — a little time in the musical bouncy chair, a little time in the swing, tummy time.  But usually by mid morning, he’s been there, done that and is ready to get out of the house.  We take walks, we conjour up errands, we visit with grandparents — basically anything to make it out of the house.  I’m even considering a road trip to Fresno — you know things re desperate when I consider Fresno.

But generally he’s doing very well.  He’s off of his once a week poop schedule and is now on a daily or every-other-day plan.  Two days ago he rolled over by himself, but hasn’t repeated it yet.  He’s getting better at holding himself up when he’s on his tummy.  He’s working on a laugh.  He can hit high pitched notes only dogs can hear — usually done with delight.

He’s eating 6 ounces of formula every 3 hours. I haven’t weighed him in more than 3 weeks — but I’m guessing he’s nearly 14 pounds.  He’s sleeping through the night (6-9 hours) 2-3 times a week.

He loves to stand (with help).  He is starting to purposefully grasp toys.  He smiles with his whole body.

In short, he’s just starting to get interesting.

It sounds like Max is at such a fun age! Glad you are enjoying him – and also able to get out of the house. Fresh air is so important. I can definitely see myself getting soo stir crazy during maternity leave – I hope I can coordinate it (ha ha, I don’t think that’s going to happen!) so I am home starting in March, that way, walks and outdoor activities will be easier. I couldn’t handle the MA winter locked in the house, I don’t think. 🙂

How much fun it must be to see him start to develop all his personality quirks! You guys sound like you’re having fun – I look forward to hearing about your Fresno trip 😉

AT this age, I took Esme to the park and she loved watching the kids, birds, squirrels, etc.
We also went to Starbucks to just hang out and she again loved watching people. Seeing movement was interesting at this age.
Max and Esme will soon be playing together!
